Shoaib Akhtar took a five wicket haul but his effort was overshadowed by a hurricane century by discarded former captain Moin Khan in the inaugural Twenty20 Cup cricket tournament in Karachi on Monday.

Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, bidding to reclaim his lost place in the Pakistan team for next month's West Indies tour, showed no signs of hamstring injury that kept him away from the Indian tour when he picked up five wickets for 23 to inspire Rawalpindi Rams to a 96 runs victory over Quetta Bears.

It was Shoaib's fourth domestic competition match after the injury and second time he had taken four or more wickets.

Shoaib's efforts were enough to dismiss the Bears for 101 in 16.3 overs after they were set a 198-run victory target by the Rams.

In another match, Moin Khan went berserk and clobbered eight fours and six sixes in his 59-ball 112. It was Moin's entertainment that helped Karachi Dolphins post 228 for seven and batted Lahore Lions out of the game.

Lions, whose target was revised to 207 in 18 overs, finished their innings at 178 for nine to lose by 29 runs.

Abdul Razzaq top scored with a 19-ball 45 that included seven fours and two sixes while Yousuf Youhana scored 15.

Meanwhile, Left-arm spinner Zeeshan Khan grabbed a hat-trick to bowl Multan Tigers to 41 runs victory over Karachi Zebras. Zeeshan picked up five for 19 as Zebras were bowled out for 114 in 19.3 overs while chasing 156 runs for victory.
