'Loved the determination and aggression of every Indian player'

India trounced Australia by 75 runs to win the 2nd Test and level the four-match series 1-1 after R Ashwin spun a web around the visitors on Day 4.

The ICC stated that this victory assures India a finish atop the Test rankings on the April 1 cut-off date and a cash prize of $1 million

And congratulations were in store for the team.

Former Australia captain Michael Clarke tweeted his wishes, writing: “What a genius @ashwin another 5 wickets when the team needed him the most. India to(sic) good. Congratulations on a brilliant win. What a Test match! What a series so far. 1-1. To all my Indian fans on Twitter I say congratulations. Give credit where credit is due. Class performance!”

Tweeting his wishes to the team, VVS Laxman wrote: “Congrats Team India on a fabulous, scintillating win…Loved the determination, fight&agression of each and every player… Keep it up.”

South Africa’s tearaway pacer Dale Steyn had good words for Indian captain Virat Kohli.

“Love Virat's aggression. Imagine if he was a fast bowler,” he wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Former Sri Lanka captain Sangakkara wrote:"Great fight back by the Indian side @imVkohli seems to be able to inspire his team to give their all in any situation." 

Member of COA Ramachandra Guha, an eminent historian called it the most gripping Test match he has watched at the Chinnaswamy in last four decades. 

"This was the most gripping Test I have watched live at the Chinnaswamy stadium—and I’ve been going there for forty years."

Former India captain Bishan Bedi was excited about how the match panned out.

“B'lore Test is awesome advert fr Test Crkt...minus of course..the 'mouthing' by both teams..!!” he tweeted.

India’s former ace fielder praised captain Kohli as he tweeted: “WHAT A MATCH ! Kohli will remember this for a long time, as will everyone who witnessed this.”
