The Rest of India team suffered a massive blow just before the start of the Irani Trophy match against Mumbai as skipper Virender Sehwag was ruled out due to an upset stomach in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Sehwag was replaced by senior off-spinner Harbhajan Singh as captain.

The match would have been a good opportunity for the struggling Sehwag to prove his worth for the upcoming high-profile home Test series against Australia.

Mumbai were also missing their regular captain Ajit Agakar, who was forced to miss the match because of a groin injury. All-rounder Abhishek Nayar was named as the Mumbai skipper for this match.

Mumbai are looking to win their first Irani Trophy having lost all their previous six encounters.

Teams:

Rest of India: Harbhajan Singh (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay, Manoj Tiwary, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Wriddhiman Saha (w/k), Pragyan Ojha, Abhimanyu Mithun, S Sreesanth, Ishwar Pandey.

Mumbai: Abhishek Nayar (captain), Wasim Jaffer, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Aditya Tare, Javed Khan, Ankeet Chavan, Dhawal Kulkarni, Vishal Dabholkar, Shardul Thakur.
