Terming the Indian Premier League as "shameful", Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that his government would not allow IPL matches in the state.

"IPL khel ke nam par kalank aur bahut sharmnak hai samaj mein (IPL is a stigma and very shameful in the name of sports in the society)," Chouhan told reporters here.

Referring to a series of controversies that have hit the IPL, he said that iconic players like Sachin Tendulkar should not play in the tournament.

Chouhan also said that cheerleaders would not be allowed in any cricket tournament in the state as "it was very indecent".

He also demanded a CBI probe into allegations of spotfixing and molestation at a hotel in Delhi.
