Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was not impressed by the opening ceremony of Indian Premier League's fifth edition and termed the show as "tacky".

"Could the IPL opening be any more tacky?" Omar posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Omar, who is a keen follower of cricket, said he could not believe IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla praising the opening ceremony.

"Can't believe Rajeev Shukla said 'If the beginning is like this' you can understand how the tournament will go'. God, I hope he's wrong," Omar said.
