Yusuf Pathan has overtaken Jacques Kallis to become the most valuable player of IPL3 after the first 25 matches (i.e., as on the morning of March 29) with a MVPI of 447.
The table below lists all IPL3 with a MVPI of at least 100. The MVPI expresses an IPL player's batting, bowling and fielding performance as a simple 'run equivalent'.
The last column lists the paisa vasool index (PVI) of these players. To calculate the PVI we divide the money earned so far by a player by the player's MVPI. A low PVI value means that the player has either been bought cheap, or has performed exceptionally (i.e. has a high MVPI). Therefore, the lower a player's PVI, the better is the value he offers the franchise owner.
