Pacer Steven Finn (5 for 33) starred in England's nine-wicket victory over India in the third ODI of the tri-series, at the Gabba, on Tuesday.
Opener Ian Bell and No 3 batsman James Taylor steered England to a comfortable nine-wicket victory over India in the third One-Day International of the tri-series at the Gabba in Brisbane on Tuesday.
After India were dismissed for a paltry 153 in 39.3 overs, England lost the wicket of opener Moeen Ali early in the innings, but Bell and Taylor put on a 131-run partnership and seal victory with a bonus point.
Earlier, England pacer Steve Finn took five wickets for 33 runs and James Anderson four for 18, as India just about managed to cross the 150-run mark.
Anderson gave England the perfect start when he removed Shikhar Dhawan for one in the third over and returned to mop up the tail.
The towering Finn tore through the fragile Indian middle order with his pace and extra bounce, three of his wickets coming through catches to wicketkeeper Jos Buttler.
Finn later got the prized wickets of Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni and was on a hat-trick after he clean bowled Axar Patel, who registered his second golden duck of the tri-series, which also involves Australia.
With India's world record holder Rohit Sharma skipping the match because of a minor hamstring complaint after scoring a century in the loss to Australia on Sunday, the tourists needed someone else to make a big contribution but no one did.
Ambati Rayudu, who struggled to reach 23 (off 53 deliveries), struck two boundaries in his painful innings, but did precious little as the Indian batting suffered a major collapse.
Later, all-rounder Stuart Binny, who came in for Ravichandran Ashwin, top scored for India with 44 off 55 balls, hitting two sixes, while Dhoni scored a patient 34 and opener Rahane 33 after replacing Sharma.
