Akmal wore blue coloured gloves in Pakistan's opening game against India and then changed them to maroon, which matched the West Indies kit in the second game.

Pakistan's wicket-keeper batsman Umar Akmal is under the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit radar for wearing gloves of the colour of the opposition team's kit in two World Cup games.

Akmal wore blue coloured gloves in Pakistan's opening game against India and then changed them to maroon, which matched the West Indies kit in the second game at Christchurch.

The ASCU interest is provoked by the belief that players in various cricket leagues around the world indulge in such practices to aid the betting mafia, though Umar Akmal has not been accused of any wrongdoing.

Akmal dropped Virat Kohli at an important stage of the India game. He also dropped a catch in the West Indies game.

Umar's brother Kamran Akmal was twice interrogated by the ACSU; the first after Pakistan's defeat against Australia in the 2010 Sydney Test and later the same year during the World Twenty20 in the West Indies.

The ACSU also collected Kamran Akmal and Salaman Butt's mobile call records after the 2010 World Twenty20.
