Imran Khan was 'not familiar with the demands and tactics employed in this condensed, post-modern format of the game.'
Pakistan cricketing icon Imran Khan on Friday said it is painful that he is being linked with Pakistan's defeat against India in the World Twenty20 game.
The former Pakistan captain had visited Kolkata to watch the match and spent some time with the Pakistan team. He had advised the Pakistani players how to handle pressure in the crunch match.
'My advice to the team is being blamed for the defeat,' Khan told the media.
Team manager Intikhab Alam in a report, parts of which were leaked, said Khan's advice was not helpful as he was not 'familiar with the demands and tactics employed in this condensed, post-modern format of the game.'
Reacting to the reports, Khan took a swipe at Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Shaharyar Khan and another senior PCB official Najam Sethi, demanding their resignations.
