HappyBirthdayDada trending as Ganguly turns 45

A packed day notwithstanding, former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly was flooded with wishes on his 45th birthday.

West Bengal Chief Minisiter Mamata Banerjee was one of the first to wish him.

“A very Happy Birthday...," posted Mamata Banerjee on her official Twitter handle as #HappyBirthdayDada started trending.

His former team-mates Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh among others.

"It was always a pleasure to play with you... Have a good one!," wrote the Mumbai maestro Tendulkar.

Crediting Ganguly for his rise in Tests, Sehwag posted a series of Tweets and photos.

"May you keep on helping India wave our flag high, just like u waved ur shirt at Lords (sic)," Sehwag wrote with a photo of him Tendulkar and Ganguly in Team India colours.

“Whatever success I could achieve in Test Cricket, I truly attribute it to the wonderful support you gave me," with the duo seen in white flannels." he further tweeted.

Harbhajan wrote: "#HappyBirthdayDada! You've always been an inspiration and a true hero. Have a great one... God bless you."

Yuvraj Singh wrote: "Wishing dearest @SGanguly99 many happy returns of the day lots of love dadi."

The Indian Cricket Board and the International Cricket Council also wished him a happy birthday on their official Twitter accounts.

"Happy Birthday to one of India's finest cricketers, Sourav Ganguly! What is your favourite memory from his career?" tweeted global body.

"Happy Birthday... Here's wishing you a great year ahead #HappyBirthdayDada," BCCI posted.

Indian Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara wrote: "Happy birthday to the man who has given us innumerable moments to cherish."

Suresh Raina, sports minister Vijay Goel, India discard Pragyan Ojha also wished him.

Sports minister Vijay Goel wrote: "A true legend of #cricket who gave us memorable moments. Prayers for your good health & best wishes."
