Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly rubbished rumours of him taking over as Cricket Association of Bengal president following the demise of Jagmohan Dalmiya.
He told media it is not a good idea to discuss someone's replacement just two days after he was cremated.
The rumour was in circulation in the wake of Ganguly going to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
"To discuss about somebody's replacement just two days after he has been cremated is not the best thing,"
The 43-year-old further said that as far as he is concerned anyone can run the board, but added that for him, personally, Dalmiya the person held more importance.
"Yes, it is early. All I can say is I have lost someone who was very dear to me. I have grown in front of him. My relationship with Mr. Dalmiya is personal, and, at the end of the day, anybody can run CAB and anyone can run the board, but, for me, he is more important; so that is what it is at the moment," he added.
Dalmiya passed away at the age of 75 at the B M Birla hospital in Kolkata after suffering a heart attack on September 20.
