Sourav Ganguly became the seventh Indian cricketer to play 100 Tests when he took the field in the first match of the series against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

Ganguly is the oldest Indian to attain the milestone at the age of 35 years and 171 days.
Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Anil Kumble, Dilip Vengsarkar and Rahul Dravid are the others who played 100 Tests.
He is the third fastest to get to the landmark, taking 11 years and 189 days. Only Dravid and Kapil Dev, among Indians, reached the milestone quicker.
Ganguly was felicitated by BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah and India captain Anil Kumble before the start of play to mark the occasion.
