Mahendra Singh Dhoni will lead an 18-man squad for next month's Test series against England.
Opener Gautam Gambhir, whose last Test was in 2012, made a comeback, while uncapped medium pacers Ishwar Pandey and Pankaj Singh found a place in the squad, as did Varun Aaron and Stuart Binny.
Zaheer Khan, who had to set out of the India leg of the Indian Premier League following a back injury, and spinners Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha were the notable omissions from the squad, announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Sanjay Patel, after a marathon meeting of the selection panel in Mumbai on Wednesday.
India will play five Tests followed by a one-day series on the three-month tour, which commences June 26 and goes on till mid-September.
Meanwhile, Suresh Raina will lead India for the three-match One-Day International series against Bangladesh.
Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin have been rested for the series, which will have matches in Mirpur on June 15, 17 and 19.
Jammu and Kashmir all-rounder Parveez Rasool found a place in the squad, which also sees the return of in-form batsman Robin Uthappa, the leading scorer in the ongoing seventh season of the IPL.
Maharashtra batsman Kedar Jadhav and left-arm spinner Akshar Patel of Gujarat are the new faces in the squad.
