Ian Pont has been appointed bowling coach of Bangladesh after former South Africa all-rounder Lance Klusener declined the role.

Englishman Pont was formerly bowling coach for the Netherlands for two years up until the 2007 World Cup.

The 49-year-old, who played for Nottinghamshire and Essex in his county career, is the author of the coaching manual The Fast Bowler's Bible.

"He has accepted our offer and obtained a visa. Hopefully he will be in Dhaka on Thursday," Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) spokesman Jalal Yunus said.

The BCB offered the job to Klusener last month but he turned it down citing family reasons.
