England captain Andrew Strauss was fined 20 per cent of his match fee after the team was found to have bowled two overs short during its 115-run win over Australia in the second Test at Lord's.

England rode on Andrew Flintoff's five-wicket haul to defeat Australia at Lord's after 75 years and take a 1-0 lead in the Ashes series.

"Jeff Crowe of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees imposed the fines after Andrew Strauss's side was ruled to be two overs short of its target at the end of the match when time allowances were taken into consideration," an ICC statement said.

As per the ICC regulations, players are docked five per cent of their match fees for each over the team fails to complete in the allotted time while the captain is penalised double the amount.
