Bollywood celebrities have backed the Indian cricket team after their loss to arch-rivals Pakistan in the final of 2017 ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday.
Ranveer Singh, Riteish Deshmukh, Suniel Shetty came out in support of Virat & Co after Pakistan came out with a splendid all-round performance to defeat India by 180 runs at The Oval, to lift their maiden Champions Trophy title on Sunday.
The actors praised Team India for their great performance in the tournament and also congratulated the Sarfraz Ahmed-led Pakistan team on their triumph.
Livewire actor Ranveer Singh wrote, "Win some, lose some..still the greatest team in the world! Solid throughout a hard-fought tournament...proud of you boys!"
'Bank Chor' star Riteish Deshmukh also expressed his thoughts on the games and also congratulated Pakistan on their victory, tweeting, "Hard Luck Team INDIA... we love you. . Congratulations Team Pakistan Great Game & a fabulous comeback in the tournament. #ChampionsTrophyFinal."
Suniel Shetty also took to Twitter and praised Hardik Pandya for his gutsy performance.
"#Team India My #Asli Champions Today and forever!All days are never alike! Congratulations for playing like lion hearts @hardikpandya7 & @BhuviOfficial," Shetty wrote on the micro-blogging site.
"Bittersweet day! congratulations team India for the splendid win at the #HockeyWorldLeague2017.. our cricket boys..to another day! #INDvPAK," tweeted Irrfan Khan.
Varun Dhawan, who is currently shooting for 'Judwaa 2', also took some time off from his busy schedule and noted, "In sports there is always a winner and loser. Today Pakistan was the better team well played. I am sure India will come back much stronger."
But Bhojpuri actor and self-proclaimed movie critic, Kamal Rashid Khan, who is known for his controversial statements and remarks on Twitter, has made serious allegations against the Indian team.
The 42-year-old actor termed Team India and Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) "fixers".
He went on a Twitter rant, writing: "Govt should revoke recognition of #BCCIPvtLtd who is fooling 130Cr Indians along with players n making crores of rupees by fixing matches. Virat Kohli should be banned from playing cricket for lifetime for selling pride of 130Cr Indians to Pakistan. He shud be behind the bars."
The 'Deshdrohi' star also tagged players like Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh in his tweets and called them 'Deshdrohis.'
KRK also raised allegations on actor Shah Rukh Khan, who was there to promote his upcoming film 'Jab Harry Met Sejal', as he predicted that Hardik Pandya will be the player to watch out for, and also told people to thrown eggs and tomatoes on players at the airport when they reach home from England.
