West Indies paceman Tino Best has been fined 50 percent of his match fee for bowling "beamers" during the second Test defeat by Sri Lanka.

Best was suspended from bowling in the second innings of the match after bowling two fast, full-pitched deliveries. He had been warned in the first innings after a similar offence.

The
International Cricket Council said on Tuesday that Best had been found guilty by match referee Mike Procter of an offence that was not within the spirit of the game.

"Players need to be careful that they do not bowl in this manner. It has no place within the laws or spirit of the game," Procter said.

Sri Lanka won the second Test by 240 runs on Monday to take the series 2-0.
