The Board of Control for Cricket in India has issued a show cause notice to the Delhi Daredevils team management for allowing captain Gautam Gambhir and pacer Ashish Nehra to travel to Sri Lanka for treating their injuries without its go-ahead.

Sources revealed that the BCCI was unhappy about the two players going to Sri Lanka without keeping it in the loop.

Gambhir, who hasn't played since the game against the Mumbai Indians last week, suffered a hamstring injury during a Daredevils' match against Kings XI Punjab.

Left-arm pacer Nehra injured his rib cage at a training session before the Mohali match and hasn't played since then.
