Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan completed the grand double of 2,000 runs and 100 wickets on home soil during his brief innings of 9 on Sunday, the fifth and final day of Fatullah Test against India.
He became only the seventh all-rounder in the world to score 2,000 runs and take 100 wickets in a particular country. Interestingly Shakib achieved both the milestones in the Fatullah Test. His wicket of Shikhar Dhawan on Day 3 was his 100th scalp in Bangladesh, and on Sunday he completed 2,000 runs.
What has been his contribution to Bangladesh cricket can be gauged from the fact that no other batsman has scored 2,000 runs for Bangladesh in Bangladesh and no other bowler has taken 100 wickets for Bangladesh in Bangladesh!
