Australian paceman Mitchell Starc is disappointed at being left out of the Adelaide Test against India and taking solace from the chance to play for Sydney Sixers in Big Bash League final.

The 21-year-old had done well for the side in the Perth Test and was named 12th man for the Adelaide Test.

However, he will be released to play in the Big Bash final against Perth Scorchers at the WACA ground on  Saturday.

Mitchell Starc"Obviously I'm disappointed to not be in the XI and playing in Adelaide. But I am really excited to be playing with the Sixers in the first ever BBL final," Starc said.

"We have a strong team at the Sixers and the boys have been doing an excellent job. It will be great to be with them and taking on the Perth Scorchers on Saturday night," Starc was quoted as saying by Sydney Morning Herald.

Sydney Sixers coach Trevor Bayliss us happy to have Starc in the side for the big match.

"To have someone like him available is a boost to the team. The last couple of games he's played for us he's bowled extremely well. That'll be a bonus heading into Perth.

"The group of fast bowlers we put together was one of the strongest going around with [Brett] Lee, Cummins, Starc and Hazlewood. Unfortunately due to injuries it's only left us with the two fast bowlers and 'Starcy' the last couple of weeks has been in the Test team. It's been a bonus when he's been able to play," Bayliss said.
