Thakur back into the attack. Royals have sent Jofra Archer at No 7 with Ravindra Jadeja still among the Impact Substitutes.

Donovan Ferreira blocks the first two balls before he takes a single to long-off.

Archer pulls the fifth ball for one and Ferreira takes a single off the last ball, as Thakur gives away three runs in the 14th over.

Leggie Raghu back into the attack. Ferreira finally cuts loose as he swings the spinner wide of long-on for a six, the first boundary for Royals after 14 balls.

RR 119-5 (13 ovs) vs MI | SCORECARD

Ghazanfar is back into the attack. He starts with a full delivery which Jurel hammers straight back past the bowler for a four.

The next ball is down the leg side as Jurel sweeps it fine for another boundary.

He cuts the third ball but can't beat Suryakumar Yadav, who makes a good stop at point.

Ghazanfar's poor outing with the ball continues. He bowls a half-tracker which Jurel makes most of, pulling it over midwicket for a six.

However, as has been the case with Royals innings so far, another batter fails to carry on after getting off to a good start.

Infact, Bosch bowls a cracking delivery, a lethal yorker to bowl Jurel, who is unable to jam his bat down in time.

Jurel walks back after scoring 38 from 24 balls as Royals are reduced to 119/5 in the 13th over.

Shanaka out for 29, Royals 4 down

RR 100-4 (11 ovs) vs MI | SCORECARD

Shanaka's promising innings comes to a tame end. The Sri Lankan, who stroked 29 from 15 balls, is run out after a huge misunderstanding with Jurel.

Jurel had tapped it to point and set off for a quick single as Shanaka responded. But Jurel decided to turn back leaving Shanaka with no chance to make his crease.

Thakur had fumbled initially at point but Shanaka was too far down the pitch. Infact, the bowler Corbin Bosch also failed to gather the ball cleanly but recovered quickly to break the stumps at the non-striker's end.

That is a huge blow for Royals as they slip to 99/4 in 10.3 overs.

Shanaka, Jurel revive Rajasthan Royals

RR 94-3 (10 ovs) vs MI | SCORECARD

Shanaka looking to dominate against spin. This time he clubs Raghu wide of long-on for his second six.

The Sri Lankan could hold the key for Royals in the middle overs on a pitch which seems to have something for the spinners.

He has made a bright start, stroking 20 from 11 balls, with two sixes.

Pacer Shardul Thakur into the attack for MI, replacing Ghazanfar, who has been expensive with figures of 1/30 in two overs.

He makes a tidy start with three singles from the first four balls. Shanaka continues to be positive as he pulls the short ball from Thakur, helping it over fine leg for a six and picks one off the last ball.

Royals recover to 94/3 in 10 overs at the halfway mark with Shanaka on 28 from 14 balls and Jurel on 16 from 15 balls.

Parag out for 14; Royals in trouble

RR 75-3 (8 ovs) vs MI | SCORECARD

Leg-spinner Raghu Sharma comes into the attack.  A single each to Jurel and Dasun Shanaka before the former drives a full delivery through the covers for two runs.

Jurel takes one to long-off before Shanaka sweeps the last ball to fine leg for another run as Raghu gives away just six runs in his first over.

Ghazanfar continues as Shanaka and Jurel take a single each before the spinner bowls a wide down the leg side which the keeper misses to concede three extra runs.

Shanaka drills the spinner through the covers for a couple before he lofts the spinner over long-on for a six followed by singles off the last two balls.

RR 54-3 (6 ovs) vs MI | SCORECARD

Spinner AM Ghazanfar comes into the attack to bowl the final over of Powerplay.

Jurel pulls the short ball over midwicket for a six and then takes one to thirdman.

Parag lofts the fourth ball over mid-on for a four to take RR past the 50-run mark before he hits the next inside out over the covers for another boundary.

However, Ghazanfar has the last laugh. He lofts the flighted ball down the ground but is caught by Tilak Varma at long-on, who takes a stunning catch close to the ropes.

Tilak flicks the ball back as he is about to lose his balance but does well to recover quickly and catch the ball.

Poor shot from Parag as he walks back for 14 from eight balls to leave RR in further strife on 54/3 in six overs.

Sooryavanshi, Jaiswal fail; Royals in trouble

RR 39-2 (5 ovs) vs MI | SCORECARD

Chahar strikes with the big wicket of Sooryavanshi with the first ball of his third over. He gets the ball to swing just enough as the left-hander gets a big leading edge which is taken by Naman Dhir on the off-side.

A rare failure for Sooryavanshi, who walks back after scoring four from six balls.

This is the second time that Chahar has dismissed Sooryavanshi in the IPL in five balls bowled.

Captain Riyan Parag has a big task ahead of him with Royals struggling after two early wickets.

Parag gets off the mark in thumping fashion as he pulls Chahar for a six over midwicket. He is then beaten attempting to guide the slower ball fine and the same off the last ball.

Jaiswal out for 27; Royals lose early wicket

RR 33-1 (4 ovs) vs MI | SCORECARD

Jacks starts his second over withy a wide before Sooryavanshi manages just a single to midwicket.

Jaiswal taking on the attack to the MI bowlers as Sooryavanshi takes his time. Jaiswal uses his feet to launch Jacks over long-off for a six and taps the next to point.

Jacks gets revenge with the wicket of Jaiswal, who miscues the lofted shot and is caught on the off-side after scoring 27 from 17 balls.

Dhruv Jurel keeps out the last two balls to end a superb over from Jacks, who has taken 1/12 in two overs.

Royals off to a quiet start vs Mumbai

RR 25-0 (3 ovs) vs MI | SCORECARD

Jaiswal breaks the shackles after a quiet start. He lofts the first ball of Chahar's second over straight down the ground for a six over long-off.

A single each to the two batters before Jaiswal smashes a wide overpitched delivery through the covers for a four.

Jaiswal then misses the ramp shot off a slower bouncer before he is unable to play the scoop shot as he toe ends the full delivery.

Mumbai elect to bowl vs Royals; Bumrah rested

RR 13-0 (2 ovs) vs MI | SCORECARD

Off-spinner Will Jacks from the other end. The two batters pick a single each before Sooryavanshi misses the sweep and is struck on the pads.

Jacks is pretty confident but gets nothing from the umpire as MI captain Hardik Pandya takes the review for the LBW.

No bat or glove involved and the ball has struck in line but the point of ball hitting the stumps is umpire's call since the original decision was not out.

Jaiswal has a narrow escape early in the innings.

He clips the fifth ball for a quick single to mid-on before Jacks bowls a wide down the leg side and Sooryavanshi can only dig out the yorker back to the bowler.

Great start for Jacks as he gives away just four runs in the second over.

Mumbai elect to bowl vs Royals; Bumrah rested

RR 9-0 (1 ov) vs MI | SCORECARD

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal walk out to open the batting for Royals, while the experienced Deepak Chahar will open the bowling for MI.

Jaiswal leaves the first ball before he takes one next ball to get off the mark.

Sooryavanshi throws his bat at a wide half-volley hitting it over the top but Will Jacks makes a sensational save at deep extra cover boundary to save the six and keep it down to one. He takes the catch but the momentum takes him over the ropes and he does well to flick the ball in.

Jaiswal has a swing and miss before he lofts the fifth ball down the ground over long-off for a six and keeps strike with one from the last ball.

Royals face must-win match vs MI

Welcome to the coverage of the IPL 2026 match between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.

Rajasthan Royals will look to go full throttle in their bid to seal the last IPL 2026 play-offs spot when they take on a struggling Mumbai Indians.

It will be a test of resilience and fitness for both the teams on a potentially hot and humid Sunday afternoon at the Wankhede stadium, as Mumbai Indians hope to sign off with a consolation victory with Rajasthan Royals aware that all they need is victory.

The Royals -- currently placed fourth with 14 points -- need to beat Mumbai Indians, which will take them to 16 points, at least one point clear of both Punjab Kings (15) and Kolkata Knight Riders (13), who are also in the fray for a play-offs berth.

If RR lose on Sunday, they will be knocked out of the play-off race with either KKR or Punjab Kings go through.

The Royals have lost more than they have won in their last five outings, but they will fancy their chances of a win against MI, knowing the conditions of the venue which has small dimensions.

More than Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's fireworks at the top, it is Yashasvi Jaiswal who poses the biggest threat to Mumbai Indians. The India opener, also a local boy, went hammer and tongs against Jasprit Bumrah and Co. in Guwahati, scoring a 32-ball 77, which sealed the fate of the game in the first half itself.

Jaiswal returns to the venue where he had smacked his maiden IPL century three years ago, having scored his second ton the following year against the same opponent.

But RR will still need more consistency from skipper Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel, who both occupy crucial spots in the batting order but have not necessarily provided the impetus in the middle overs. If Jurel has lacked the punch at times, Parag is searching for consistency.

If it is any consolation, MI's record in the last five matches is similar to the Royals with three losses and two wins, but then the hosts will be determined to play for pride and the badge.

The contest will provide MI's struggling Indian stars Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma the chance to have one final crack with an impactful performance which would help their team sign off on a positive note.

All eyes once again will be on the young batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has proved to be unstoppable with the bat in IPL 2026.
