MI 149-5 (17 Ovs) vs RCB | SCORECARD

Mumbai Indians lost another wicket just as they were trying to accelerate, with Will Jacks falling for 10 off 10 balls.

Romario Shepherd struck at a crucial moment, forcing Jacks into an early heave that came off the toe end. The ball ballooned towards deep mid-wicket, where Jacob Bethell ran in confidently and completed a clean catch.

At the other end, Tilak Varma kept the scoreboard ticking with a single, but MI slipped again at a key stage, losing momentum just as they looked set to push on in the death overs.

Mumbai Indians brought in Raj Bawa as the new batter after another setback, with the innings still under pressure in the middle overs.

Romario Shepherd continued to apply pressure, keeping things tight with disciplined bowling. Bawa struggled to get going initially, surviving a couple of testing deliveries before MI managed to close the over with a boundary. Despite the wicket, MI added 5 runs and moved to 136 for 5 after 16 overs.

Rasikh Salam Dar returned to the attack in the next over, but Tilak Varma took control of the situation. He rotated strike well with quick running and then unleashed a boundary to bring up a well-crafted half-century off just 37 balls.

With confidence rising, Tilak continued to find gaps and keep the scoreboard moving, adding a couple of sharp twos along with singles alongside Bawa. MI collected 13 runs from the over, reaching 149 for 5 after 17 overs, with Tilak holding the innings together.
