Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their chase of 167 with early pressure building, as Jacob Bethell and new skipper Rajat Patidar tried to steady the innings.
Jasprit Bumrah kept things tight from one end, mixing lengths and forcing singles as RCB scraped together runs. Bethell and Patidar rotated strike with small contributions, while occasional extras and leg-byes helped keep the scoreboard moving.
Deepak Chahar continued his disciplined spell, even inducing a mistimed shot and nearly grabbing a return catch in his follow-through, but RCB survived that moment of danger.
However, the breakthrough came when Corbin Bosch was introduced. On his very first impact ball, Patidar mistimed a big shot and was caught by Ryan Rickelton, departing for 8 off 8 and leaving RCB under pressure again.
Krunal Pandya then walked in as the new batter, with RCB needing a steady partnership to rebuild after another key wicket.
Bosch hit a good length outside off that jagged back sharply into Krunal Pandya, beating him on both the tuck and the cut attempt as RCB struggled to find fluency.
Despite a few earlier singles, the over belonged to MI’s control, with Bosch maintaining tight lines and forcing mistakes. The pressure finally told as RCB lost another wicket in the over.
After 6 overs, RCB were 47 for 3 -- under pressure and needing a rebuild after another disciplined bowling display.
