RCB 18-1 (2 Ovs) vs MI 166-7 | SCORECARD

Royal Challengers Bengaluru began their chase of 167 with early fireworks before a major setback in the very first over.

Jacob Bethell started aggressively against Deepak Chahar, smashing back-to-back boundaries to set the tone. He continued the positive intent with smart placement and a single to keep the strike moving.

But Chahar struck back in dramatic fashion. A wide was followed by a crucial delivery that bounced a touch extra, catching Virat Kohli off guard. The ball ballooned off the bat and Raj Bawa completed a sharp catch diving forward--sending Kohli back for a golden duck.

Devdutt Padikkal then walked in and immediately got off the mark with a boundary to close the over.

RCB ended the first over at 14 for 1, a mix of explosive start and a huge early blow.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their chase cautiously after the early wicket, with Jacob Bethell and Devdutt Padikkal trying to settle the innings.

Jasprit Bumrah came into the attack and immediately tightened the screws with his trademark control. Bethell had a swing and a miss early in the over but managed to rotate strike with a single soon after.

The batters worked in ones throughout the over, with Padikkal also getting off strike through steady placement. Bumrah kept things tight, not allowing any release shots, and finished the over with just a single conceded in the final ball.

After 2 overs, RCB were 18 for 1, with MI keeping things disciplined after the early breakthrough.
