Hardik turned around the Indian innings with his late assault in the final overs.

India smashed 54 runs from the last five overs with Hardik providing the final flourish with an entertaining 59 from 28 balls, hitting four sixes and six fours.

He brought up his landmark 100th six in T20 Internationals -- the fourth Indian to achieve it.

India struggled in the middle over as Tilak scored a sedate 26 from 32 balls and Axar made 23 from 21 balls.

Ngidi starred with the ball for the Proteas with 3/31, while Sipamla claimed 2/38 and Jansen bowled well to concede 23 runs from his four overs.
