image
MI 209-9 (20 Ovs) vs RCB 221-5 | Scorecard

A monumental win for RCB. A night to forget for MI.

History for RCB! They've done the unthinkable- conquering Eden Gardens, taming Chepauk, and now toppling the five-time champions at their fortress, the Wankhede Stadium! It was a tense, edge-of-the-seat finish, but RCB held their nerve. Mumbai Indians, despite coming agonisingly close, fall short once again -and this time, in front of their home crowd.

To add to the heartbreak, it's a team they hadn't lost to at this venue for nearly a decade.

Two sixes to force a Super Over. The equation is tough - but not impossible.

All eyes on Naman Dhir. He is OUT! Bumrah on strike and no run!

Dayal removes SKY, MI 4 down

image
MI 99-4 (12 Ovs) vs RCB 221-5 | Scorecard

Suyash Sharma continues his spell. Tilak Varma begins with a punch towards cover, but straight to the fielder - no run. The next one drifts down the leg side and is rightly called a wide. Another dot follows, as Tilak attempts a sweep but misses again. He finally gets off strike with a single, though he won't be too pleased with that effort. Then comes a moment of chaos - a full delivery on off, and SKY gets down on one knee for a controlled sweep toward deep midwicket. Krunal Pandya circles around but completely misjudges it under the lights! He ends up nowhere near the ball, which bobbles past him and into the boundary. SKY gets four, but his expression says it all - he's not pleased, perhaps thinking it could've been more.

A dot ball ends the over. Just 6 runs off it - after 11 overs, MI are 90 for 3, needing 132 from 54 balls.

The pressure continues to mount on Mumbai as RCB tighten the screws. Yash Dayal returns to the attack, and the drama begins right away. Tilak Varma drives firmly towards cover, but Tim David dives low to his right and pulls off a brilliant stop, saving a certain boundary. The very next ball, SKY goes for the big shot - it goes straight up and hangs in the night sky for ages. But what follows is a comedy of errors - Jitesh and Dayal both go for the catch, fail to communicate, and end up dropping it! Dayal ran in circles, Jitesh swooped in late, and what should've been a routine take is grassed. A dot ball follows, and then Tilak responds in style-  slamming a towering six into the stands. He adds a single next, handing the strike back to SKY, who once again miscues. This time, there are no mistakes - Liam Livingstone settles under it and holds on safely. Dayal breathes a huge sigh of relief after that earlier drop.

SKY departs for 28 off 26 balls. After 12 overs, MI are 99 for 4, needing 123 from 48 balls.

A tidy one from Suyash - just 5 runs off it. After 9 overs, MI are 78 for 2.

Krunal Pandya to continue. SKY nudges one to deep midwicket for a single to begin the over. Then comes a moment of excitement - Jitesh goes up for a stumping appeal! Replays show SKY's back foot did lift briefly, but Jitesh couldn't whip the bails off in time - not out. Jacks faces a pinpoint yorker next and fails to make contact.

Then, Krunal changes it up with a slower bouncer, and it pays off - Jacks mistimes the pull, skies it to deep backward square leg, and Kohli makes no mistake. A smartly set trap and Jacks departs for 22 off 18 balls.

A huge appeal for a caught-behind follows soon after, but the umpire stays unmoved. RCB opt to review - just in time. The replays show the ball has missed the bat, merely brushing the back thigh, and the impact is well outside the line '" RCB lose their review. Hardik Pandya and Rajat Patidar walk out for the toss. The coin goes up... Patidar calls tails-but it's heads!

Hardik wins the toss and, without hesitation, opts to bowl first for Mumbai Indians.

Hardik says it looks like a good wicket and expects dew later, making bowling first the smart call. He adds MI have been missing key moments but hopes to turn things around at home. Big boost for MI- Bumrah and Rohit are back in the XI.

Patidar says they wouldve preferred to chase too, but expects a good batting track throughout. Emphasises focusing on quality cricket over the points table and backs RCBs experienced bowling unit. No changes for RCB.

Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah is all set to return for Mumbai Indians in their IPL clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Bumrah has been out since January due to a back issue picked up during the final Test in Australia, missing the England series and the Champions Trophy.

MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed the news, saying, "Yeah, he is available. He is training today, so he should be available tomorrow.'

MI look to fix batting woes vs RCB

Hello and welcome to the coverage of the IPL match between Mumbai Indians and RCB  at the Wankhede.

Struggling Mumbai Indians (MI) will be desperate to turn things around when they face an upbeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

With just one win in four games, MI's poor start continues, largely due to batting failures-only Suryakumar Yadav and Ryan Rickelton have scored fifties so far.

Rohit Sharma's form and fitness remain concerns after missing the last game due to a knee injury. Tilak Varma has failed to convert starts, putting added pressure on Suryakumar, who leads MI's scoring with 177 runs. Despite Hardik Pandya's five-wicket haul and a quickfire 28, MI lacked lower-order firepower in their last match against LSG.A potential boost comes in the form of Jasprit Bumrah's return, though his match fitness is uncertain.

RCB, currently third on the table, will look to exploit MI's weaknesses. While Virat Kohli has been inconsistent, the likes of Phil Salt, Devdutt Padikkal, and Rajat Patidar add depth. Tim David, returning to Wankhede against his former team, could be a game-changer.

Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar lead RCB's pace attack, though their spinners are yet to shine.

After a loss to Gujarat Titans, RCB will be keen to bounce back, while MI seek a much-needed resurgence at home.
