Ind 156-9 (45 ovs) vs NZ 259 | Scorecard

India have been dismissed for 156 as Mitch Santner stars for New Zealand with a seven wicket haul on Day 2 of the 2nd Test in Pune, on Friday.

New Zealand have a 103-run lead.

Jadeja came out attacking after lunch, taking on Ajaz Patel before Santner had him out LBW for 38.

Akash Deep was the next to go before Santner had Bumrah out LBW to dismiss India for 156. Santner finished with career-best figures of 7 for 53.

Earlier, India's star-studded batting line-up put up yet another flop show as the hosts struggled to reach 107 for 7 at lunch.

Santner (4/36 in 16 overs) and off-spinner Glenn Phillips (2/26 in 6 overs) took six wickets in the morning session after India looked comfortable at 50 for 1.

Shubman Gill (30) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (30) had added 49 for the second wicket before another six wickets fell for the addition of 53 runs as India were left tottering at 103 for 7.

Virat Kohli played the most forgettable shot of the morning to be clean bowled for 1.

Yashasvi Jaiswal had done fairly well to reach 30 with four boundaries but going with hard hands to defend a delivery outside off, spinning away from his bat to take an edge to the first slip, gave Glenn Phillips his first wicket.

But as if all that wasn't enough, Rishabh Pant's (18) failure to read the lack of bounce while going for a mighty heave across the line against the part-time spin of Phillips, resulted in the ball crashing into his off-stump, leaving India in a desperate situation at 83 for five.

Sarfaraz Khan (11), whose recent outings include 222 not out in Irani Cup and 150 in the last innings at Bengaluru, only had himself to blame after recklessly hitting one straight to mid-off for William O'Rourke to grab an easy catch, off Santner.

Santner continues and he comes around the wicket to Bumrah who has played two dots before he is out LBW. Big appeal and the umpire raises the finger. India take the review.
