Nightwatchman Akash Deep failed to survive till stump as he was caught off an inside edge off Boland for a duck.

India, who were well-placed on 153/2 at one stage, lost three wickets for six runs in the space of 21 balls.

The wicket of Jaiswal proved to be the turning point which happened after a huge mix up with Kohli, who also didn't last long after that incident.

Captain Rohit Sharma back as opener failed once again as he miscued the pull shot off Cummins for 3. The Australia captain produced a beauty to clean up the in-form K L Rahul for 24.
