Kuldeep has a huge appeal for leg before turned down against Wellalage as the left-hander again misses the sweep. He has looked quite edgy in this knock, looking to counter the spinners with the sweep shot.
In the next over, Wellalage has another close shave. He is beaten by the sharp turning delivery from Sundar as Rahul whips off the bails and appeals for stumping but his back foot is well grounded.
Wellalage finally gets one off the middle as he drives the full delivery from Sundar through the covers for a four to get off the mark.
Wellalage connects with the slog sweep hitting it uppishly over midwicket as Arshdeep Singh charges in from the deep but can't get to the catch to concede three runs.
Kuldeep continues to keep the Sri Lankan batters in a spell. He concedes two runs from his seventh over, nearly striking with the last ball as Wellalage is beaten on the outside edge with the ball not far from the off-stump.
