The third T20 International between Ireland and India in Dublin was called off without a ball being bowled because of rain.

India claimed the series 2-0 following their victories in the first two matches.

The series opener, which India won by two runs via DLS method, was also marred by rain.

The toss for the final game was delayed due to rain and following multiple inspections, the umpires called off the match three hours after the scheduled start time.

The series marked impressive comebacks of pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna from back surgeries after nearly a year away from cricket.

Bumrah led a the team full of youngsters in the absence of senior players with focus being on the ODI format ahead of the World Cup at home in October-November.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, who will lead the team in China, got to bat in back-to-back matches after sitting out for the majority of the West Indies tour. He scored a fine half-century in the 33-run win in the second T20 on Sunday.

The series will also be remembered for the much-awaited debut of IPL sensation Rinku Singh, who made an impact in the only innings he got on the short  tour.

Sanju Samson, who is seen as a back-up to K L Rahul in the ODI format, made a brisk 40 though he has a slim chance of securing  a World Cup berth.

India have already sealed series 2-0

Welcome to the coverage of the third and final T20 International between Ireland and India in Dublin on Wednesday.

A dominant India will aim to complete a comfortable series clean-sweep against Ireland in the third and final T20 International in Dublin on Wednesday.

The inconsequential third game gives this think-tank a chance to check out players like Avesh Khan, Jitesh Sharma and Shahbaz Ahmed, who haven't yet got a game in the series.

In fact, Avesh, who was also with the team during the West Indies T20 series has been benched for seven straight matches.

It is unlikely that there will be any change in the batting order unless the team management decides to rest Sanju Samson and try out Jitesh before Asian Games.

However Samson, who is a senior player in this set-up, might not want to sit out as his place in the World Cup squad is far from assured and he would like to carry on from where he left in the second game when he scored 40 off 26 balls.

With Rinku Singh announcing his arrival on international stage with a 21-ball-38 in the second game, India's T20 squad seems like getting that second finisher after Suryakumar Yadav in shortest format.

The likes of Rinku, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad would like to stamp their authority as this will be the last bilateral T20 series before the next one against Australia which will be held in the month of November.
