India v NZ warm-up match called off due to rain

The India vs New Zealand T20 World Cup match in Brisbane has been called off due to rain.

With the rain showing no signs of relenting, the umpires had no option but to abandon the game.

"Match at The Gabba has been called off due to persistent rains," BCCI tweeted.

India have been denied some valuable match practice ahead of their World Cup opener against Pakistan at MCG on Sunday, which is also under the threat of rain.

The Indian team could be set for some wet weather in Melbourne with a lot of rain predicted in the weekend.

The rain is showing no signs of relenting as it continues to pour in Brisbane.

"Heavy rain at The Gabba ahead of our final @T20WorldCup warm-up match against @BCCI in Brisbane #NZvIND," tweeted Black Caps.

As things stand right now, it looks highly unlikely that we could get a game.
