IPL champions Mumbai Indians with their first bid of the day as they show interest in South African Chris Morris, who starts with a base price of Rs 75 lakh.

This is a bidding war at its fiercest as the two teams keeping raise their paddles instantly to counter each other.

The bid soon touches Rs 5 crore before RCB go into a rethink but jump back with another fresh quote.

Morris is having a field day as Mumbai now compete with Royals to push the price past the Rs 12 crore mark.

Mumbai Indians have Rs 15.35 crore in their kitty but they still take the price to Rs 13 crore, throwing everything they have to bag the South African all-rounder.

Kings XI Punjab make a dramatic late entry with a whopping Rs. 13.5 crore.

This is the highest bid of the day as Punjab take the bid to Rs. 14.5 crore going past the Maxwell's 14.25 crore.

Preity Zinta raises the paddle to make it a Rs 15 crore bid for Morris but no denying Royals, who continue to keep coming back.

Royals take the bid to Rs 15.75 crore -- the second highest bid ever in the history of IPL.

Infact, Morris has shattered the record for the highest IPL bid ever as Royals take the bid to Rs 16.25 crore beating the record of Rs 16 crore which Delhi Daredevils paid for Yuvraj Singh in 2015.

Morris sold to Rajasthan Royals for a masssive Rs. 16.25 crore to become the most expensive player in IPL history.

England batting sensation Dawid Malan, the No 1 batsman in T20 Internationals start with a base price of Rs. 1.5 crore.

Punjab are the only team to bid as they bag Malan for his base price of Rs. 1.5 crore.
