18,862 Runs scored in the tournament. Out of which 17,962 came off the bat and 900 were extras. The extras' break-up: 538 wides, 262 leg-byes, 53 no-balls and 47 byes.

1,812 Runs scored by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in boundaries (240 fours and 142 sixes) -- most by any side in a single IPL. Kings XI Punjab scored 1,810 runs in boundaries in the 2014 edition.

1,633 Number of fours in the tournament. Gujarat Lions hit the most (242), while RCB conceded the most (242, again)

Run-machine Virat Kohli created a record with 973 runs in this edition of the IPL

973 Runs scored by Virat Kohli -- the most by a batsman in a single IPL season. David Warner, with 848 runs, was the second highest scorer. The record of most runs in a single IPL before this was 733, shared by Chris Gayle and Michael Hussey.

665 Number of wickets that fell in the tournament. The break-up: 323 caught in the field, 111 bowled, 77 caught behind, 74 run-out, 41 lbw, 22 stumped, 14 caught and bowled and 3 hit wicket.

638 Number of sixes hit in the tournament. RCB batsmen hit the most. They also conceded the most.

191.13 Krunal Pandya's strike-rate in the tournament (237 runs off 124 balls) -- the highest for any batsman facing at least 100 balls in this IPL.

87.66 Chris Gayle's boundary percentage against the Kings XI Punjab at Bangalore -- the highest for any batsman in an innings of 50 or more in the tournament. 64 of his 73 runs were in boundaries (4 fours and 8 sixes).

86.82 A B de Villiers's boundary percentage against Gujarat Lions at Bangalore. 112 of his 129* runs were in boundaries (10 fours and 12 sixes).

81.08 Virat Kohli's batting average in the tournament -- the highest for any batsman scoring 500 runs in a single IPL. Kings XI Punjab's Shaun Marsh had an average of 68.44 in 2008 (while scoring 616).

61 Runs conceded by Shane Watson against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final -- the most by any bowler in a match in the tournament. It was also the most expensive bowling by any bowler in an IPL final.

56 Number of ducks recorded in the tournament. Kings XI Punjab recorded the most -- 13, while Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils recorded the least -- 4 each.

34 Number of singles Virat Kohli ran during his innings of 80 against Rising Pune Supergiants -- the most by any batsman in this edition.

 30 Runs conceded by Gujarat Lions' Dwayne Bravo and Shivil Kaushik in one over -- the most by any bowler. Both these performances came in the same game and consecutive overs! Virat Kohli made 13, AB de Villiers 16 and one no-ball constituted Bravo's over. In Kaushik's over, Virat did all the scoring.

22 Number of dot balls Murali Vijay played during his innings of 53 against Rising Pune Supergiants -- the most by any batsman in an innings in the tournament.

18 Number of dot balls Dwayne Smith delivered against Kolkata Knight Riders at Kanpur -- the most by any bowler in an innings in the tournament. Of the remaining six balls he conceded 5 singles and a double (plus one wide).

18 Number of sixes conceded by Shane Watson in the tournament -- the most for any bowler.

17 Number of balls Delhi Daredevils' Chris Morris took to reach his 50 against the Gujarat Lions. The very next day Mumbai Indians' Kieron Pollard also scored his 50 off 17 balls against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

14 Number of dot balls Mumbai Indians' Shreyas Gopal played out of 16 balls he faced in the first match of the season against Rising Pune Supergiants. Of the remaining two he scored two and got out off the 16th ball.

12 Number of sixes A B de Villiers hit during his innings of 129* against the Gujarat Lions at Bangalore -- the most by any batsman in an innings in the tournament.

11 Number of twos Dinesh Karthik ran during his innings of 50 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore -- the most by any batsman in an innings in the tournament.
