Ashwell Prince has been recalled to replace the injured Graeme Smith as South Africa captain for the third Test against Australia where he will open the batting alongside debutant Imraan Khan.
Middle-order batsman Prince broke his thumb in December but returns for the Cape Town Test to take over from Smith who fractured his finger in the 175-run, series-surrendering second Test defeat in Durban.
The 24-year-old Khan comes in for dropped opener Neil McKenzie after impressing with a century against the Australians in a warm-up match three weeks ago and is the leading run-scorer in the domestic four-day competition.
Nineteen-year-old left-arm seamer Wayne Parnell has also been added to the squad in place of Morne Morkel, but is unlikely to press for a first Test cap. Morkel's brother -- all-rounder Albie -- retained his place in the panel.
South Africa also named a 15-man squad for the two twenty20 internationals that will follow the Test series and have called up fiery left-arm bowlers Yusuf Abdulla and Roelof van der Merwe for their first international caps.
