Some interesting statistics on the final day of the third Test between India and Australia, which ended in a draw on Sunday

1429 Runs scored in the match -- a new record for Test matches at Delhi. The previous highest match aggregate was 1334 (for the loss of 27 wickets) between India and West Indies in 1958-59.

463 Gautam Gambhir's run-tally in the series so far -- best by any left-hander for India in a Test series against Australia. He went ahead of Nari Contractor, who had made 438 at an average of 43.80 in five Tests in the 1959-60 series.

12 Number of times an Indian captain has declared twice in the Test. This was the second such instance for Kumble. He had also declared India's both innings against Pakistan at Kolkata in 2007-08. Interestingly out of 12 such instances only one has ended in a win.

5 Consecutive Test matches in which Australia have not beaten India. They lost to India at Perth by 72 runs earlier this year, then drew at Adelaide, drew at Bangalore, lost at Mohali by 320 runs and drew again here at Delhi.

3 VVS Laxman became the third batsman in Test cricket history to score a double hundred and a fifty in the same match on TWO occasions. He had made 59 and 281 also against Australia at Kolkata in 2000-01. Others to do so more than once are also fellow Indians -- Rahul Dravid (thrice) and Sunil Gavaskar (twice).
