Andrew Strauss struck 106 on Monday to help take England to an ultimately comfortable six-wicket win over New Zealand in the second Test at Old Trafford.
England, who trailed New Zealand by 179 runs on the first innings, completed a remarkable recovery to reach 294 for four in their second innings on the fourth day. It was the highest winning total at Old Trafford.
Captain Michael Vaughan scored 48 and Kevin Pietersen was run out for 42.
The first Test at Lord's ended in a draw. The third and final Test starts at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on June 5.
