Skipper S Badrinath led from the front with an unbeaten 83 as India 'A' ambled to a six-wicket win with 10 overs to spare against the Australian Institute of Sports (AIS) in the ongoing Emerging Players tournament in Brisbane on Tuesday.
Batting first, the hosts posted a decent 269 for 7, with Matthew Wade hitting a sparkling 115.
For India, Pankaj Singh took 3-58, while leg-spinner Amit Mishra continued his splendid form and returned impressive figures of 2-31.
India's chase looked wobbly as they lost Ajinkya Rahane early. The second-wicket pair of Shikhar Dhawan (75) and Badrinath, however, took control of the proceedings and put India firmly on course for an easy win.
Down the order, Abhishek Nayar (41) and Manoj Tiwary (24) maintained the momentum and it was quite befitting that the winning run came off Badrinath's bat as India overwhelmed the target losing just four wickets.
