Matthew Hayden got the innings off to a flying start with a brisk half-century.
Hayden regularly came down the track to hit the fast bowlers over the infield and one such brutal stroke off Ishant Sharma went for the maximum.
The veteran left-hander made 54 from 62 deliveries, with five boundaries and a six, before he was run out by Virender Sehwag.
