India captain Anil Kumble won the toss and elected to bat in the second Test against Pakistan at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday.

India retained the team that won the first Test by six wickets.

Pakistan were forced to make one change. Captain Shoaib Malik was ruled out after failing to recover from an ankle injury and replaced by Faisal Iqbal.

Younis Khan will lead the team for the Test.

The good news for Pakistan was that the pace duo of Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Sami were declared fit. The two fast bowlers were down with chest infection for the last few days and had no practice in the run-up to the match.

India lead the three-match series 1-0 after their victory in Delhi.

Teams:

India: Anil Kumble (captain), W Jaffer, D Karthik, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (w/k), R Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, S Ganguly, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel.

Pakistan: Younis Khan (captain), Salman Butt, Yasir Hameed, Faisal Iqbal, Mohammad Yousuf, Kamran Akmal (w/k), Misbah-ul-Haq, Mohammad Sami, Shoaib Akhtar, Sohail Tanvir, Danish Kaneria.
