Irfan Pathan shone with the ball, as visitors Baroda took the upper hand against hosts Hyderabad on the second day of the Super League Group B Ranji Trophy encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium on Saturday.

Irfan took four wickets for 71 runs as the hosts were restricted to 261.

Baroda were comfortably placed at 191 for 2 at the end of the day's play.

Sumit Singh helped Pathan from the other end by grabbing three wickets as Hyderabad could add only 41 more to their overnight total of 220/4.

In reply, Connor Williams scored a gritty, unbeaten 91 and shared a crucial 132-run second-wicket partnership with Azharuddin Bilakhia (68) to wrest the advantage for the visitors.
