The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday announced that chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar has decided to stop writing columns and the show cause notice served to him has been withheld.

"Vengsarkar had a chat with [BCCI president] Sharad Pawar today and the matter has been resolved. Vengsarkar has assured that he will stop writing columns. So that is why the show cause notice is not being revoked and it has been withheld," BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla said in Delhi on Thursday.

Earlier, it was reported that the BCCI had sent a show cause notice to Vengsarkar for continuing to defy the Board's gag order.

The BCCI bluntly told Vengsarkar that he would have to quit as chief selector if he continues to function as a columnist.
