Hyderabad rode on a sparkling century from Daniel Manohar to score 310 for 7 against Punjab on the opening day of the Ranji Trophy Super League Group B match in Mohali on Thursday.
Put in to bat, Daniel scored 119 and shared a 128-run opening wicket stand with Ravi Teja (55) to help Hyderabad pile up the big score at the Punjab Cricket Association stadium.
But once the stand was broken, wickets fell quickly.
Amit Kakkar, with a haul of three for 52, was the main wicket-taker for the hosts.
V V S Laxman (38) provided good support to Manohar and added 75 runs for the second wicket, but the star batsman failed to take advantage of the solid foundation and make a big score. He was caught by Ravi Inder off Kakkar.
Manohar and Teja laid the foundation for Hyderabad's innings before M Gony bowled Teja with the score 128. His innings had nine hits to the fence.
Anup Pai (10) did not last long and returned to the pavilion after adding only 20 to the total.

Arjun Yadav's was the fifth wicket to fall. H Ahmed (9) and Pragyan Ojha did not make any significant contribution to Hyderabad total.
