Uttar Pradesh gained a first innings lead of 143 runs after reaching 28 for no loss in their second innings on the second day of the Ranji Trophy Super League Group B match against Hyderabad on Wednesday.
R Srivastava (16) and T Srivastava (12) were at the crease when the stumps were drawn.
Earlier, resuming at overnight score 293 for six, the visitors added 143 runs before folding their first essay.
Amir Khan, overnight unbeaten batsman on 44, completed his half-century, while P Kumar added 29 runs to his seven. The other batsmen P Gupta (6) and S Tyagi (1) were dismissed cheaply.
For the hosts, first class debutant Vishal Sharma took four wickets for 73 runs while SM Shoaib and PP Ojha took two wickets each.
Hyderabad, chasing Uttar Pradesh's 336, were bundled out for 193.
Piyush Chawla and P Gupta claimed four wickets each to wreak havoc while S Tyagi and P Kumar took one wicket each.
M Shakeer scored a brilliant 49 with the help of eight fours and two sixes.
DS Manohar made a decent 32 while captain Arjun Yadav scored 22. MP Arjun and Pragyan Ojha contributed 25 and 23 respectively.
