Former Board of Control for Cricket in India president Jagmohan Dalmiya has been asked to appear regarding PILCOM accounts before a BCCI disciplinary committee at Mohali on October 29.
"We have asked him (Dalmiya) to appear before the committee regarding the PILCOM accounts on October 29 at Mohali. We had sent summons earlier to him before he went to court," BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said on Tuesday.
Dalmiya was suspended on April 9 from attending all meetings including the Annual General Meeting after being alleged to have misappropriated Rs 2.174 million (USD 49,000) from the organising committee of the 1996 World Cup, PILCOM, comprising representatives of the event's joint hosts -- India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Shah also said the BCCI was yet to get any communication from the International Cricket Council over its reported displeasure over invitation to banned former captain Mohd Azharuddin to attend the function on November 4 to inaugurate the Board's new headquarters.
"I am only reading (ICC's CEO Malcolm) Speed's statements in the papers. We have not received anything from the ICC (on this matter)," Shah said.
Azhar was banned for life by the BCCI for his alleged role in the match-fixing scandal that rocked the cricket world six years ago.
But the Hyderabadi, who is fighting a court case against the ban, has been seen hobnobbing with top BCCI officials at official Tests conducted under the aegis of the ICC, notably the last England-India match at the Wankhede Stadium.
