Picked for the South Africa Test series, Sourav Ganguly on Thursday said he would bank on his experience of playing on bouncy tracks to come good in the three-match rubber.

"I am happy to be back," Ganguly told reporters who had gathered in huge numbers to get his reaction on being selected to the national squad after ten months.

"My job is to go and do well. I have lot of runs behind me and experience to play on the bouncy pitches in South Africa," he said at the Eden Gardens where he will turn out for Bengal on Friday in a Ranji Trophy game against Mumbai.

"I have done very well in Australia where there is lot of bounce. I have played with the same group of players earlier. I hope I can continue in the same way," he added.

He, however, refused to comment if the Tests would be a stepping stone for him to make it to the one-day side in the run up to the World Cup.

"I will take one series at a time," he said.

About Indian team's prospects in the Test series after the drubbing in the one-dayers, he said "we have been successful on bouncy pitches in Australia. I hope we can play better. The youngsters will get used to the tracks."

Ganguly also refused to comment on what position he would like to bat. "I cannot talk about all this. It's up to the team management."

Asked if he would be giving his advice as a former captain, Ganguly said "I'll have to go and see".
