Indian captain Rahul Dravid won the toss and elected to field against the West Indies in the first One-Day International at Sabina Park, Jamaica, on Thursday.

India opted for a four-man pace attack following the injury to off-spinner Ramesh Powar.

Other players to sit out are seamer S Sreesanth, who had a bruised heel, opener Robin Uthappa and middle order bat Venugopala Rao.

The West Indies left out Corey Colleymore, Dave Mohammad and Dwayne Smith.

The start of the match was delayed by an hour due to overnight rain and the game consequently reduced to 45 overs-a-side.
