Yuvraj Singh is back in the Indian squad for the second Test against England, beginning in Mohali on March 9.
The Punjab all-rounder, who had to sit out of the drawn first Test because of a hamstring injury, sustained on the tour of Pakistan, was declared fit earlier in the day.
Also included in the team is Maharashtra seamer Munaf Patel. The duo replace Suresh Raina and V R V Singh respectively.
Chairman of selectors Kiran More said, "Munaf has been in great form and done well in domestic matches. He also bowled well in the tour game against England and got ten wickets."
The Board President's XI won that match by eight wickets.
Asked why Raina was dropped without being given a game, More replied: Yuvraj had to come back. Raina is an outstanding cricketer and will return to the squad."
