India elect to bat in second Test

India captain Rahul Dravid won the toss and elected to bat in the second Test against the West Indies at the Beausejour stadium in St Lucia on Saturday.

Irfan Pathan, who was rested for first Test, returned to the team in place of the injured S Sreesanth in the only change effected by India.

The West Indies made two changes as they opted for an all out pace attack.

Pedro Collins came in for his half-brother Fidel Edwards, who suffered a hamstring injury in the drawn first Test at Antigua, while chinaman bowler Dave Mohammed made way for Jerome Taylor.

Teams:

India: Rahul Dravid (captain), Virender Sehwag, Wasim Jaffer, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Irfan Pathan, Anil Kumble, Munaf Patel and Vikram Rajvir Singh.

West Indies: Brian Lara (captain), Chris Gayle, Daren Ganga, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Dwayne Bravo, Denesh Ramdin, Pedro Collins, Jerome Taylor, Ian Bradshaw and Corey Collymore.

Umpires: Asad Rauf (Pak) and Simon Taufel (Aus)

Third umpire: Steve Bucknor (WI)

Match referee: Jeff Crowe (NZ).
