Wasim Jaffer

When he last toured the West Indies in 2001-02, Wasim Jaffer missed out on a century at St. John's, Antigua, getting out for 86.

Equipped with a more polished technique and maturity, the Mumbai batsman, who returned to the Test team after undergoing surgery on his right shin bone, stuck around this time to not only notch a double hundred and become the first Indian opener to get into triple figures at the venue, but also pull India out of the woods and into a commanding position on Day 4 of the first Test.

In the process, he became only the fourth Indian batsman to score a double in the West Indies, Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Sardesai and Navjot Singh Sidhu having achieved the feat once each.

The current knock is also Jaffer's highest Test score, bettering the 100 he scored against England at Nagpur in March.

Join us in congratulating the 28-year-old batsman.
