Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is a doubtful starter for India in their first one-dayer against Pakistan in Peshawar on Monday due to an injury to his bowling finger.
"Harbhajan Singh was unlucky to get hit on the forefinger of his right hand yesterday. That's the finger he uses to spin the ball. We are hopeful it will become better by tomorrow. But if he's not fit he will not play as we have lot of cricket ahead of us," India captain Rahul Dravid told a media conference on Sunday.
Harbhajan went wicketless in the first two matches of the three-Test series against Pakistan and was not in the team for the decider which India lost at Karachi.
"He was our unsung hero in the ODI series at home against South Africa and Sri Lanka and we're confident he would play very well in the series here too," Dravid said.
Dravid said Harbhajan suffered the injury while fielding on Saturday, while according to media manager G S Walia there was some fluid accumulation on the joint of the bowler's finger for which he was undergoing treatment from team physiotherapist John Gloster.
